Services Offered
Minor Maintenance/Evaluation:
All clocks need regular check-ups to ensure they are working as they should. It is recommended that every 2 years a visual inspection, light cleaning, oiling and setting into beat is done to ensure the extended life of the clock movements. After evaluating the clock we will discuss all repairs before any work is done.
Overhaul Maintenance:
As a clock movement ages parts get worn and need to be replaced. It is recommended that the movement be overhauled every 10 to 15 years to prevent major damage to the clock movements. During the overhaul the movement will be cleaned, fully inspected, pivots polished and bushings replaced. With this level of maintenance the clock will also require time to adjust and need testing to ensure that all problems are fixed.
All repairs will be discussed prior to the start of work.
If the clock is 1960 or newer it is recommended that a new movement be installed instead of overhauling the original movement.
This doesn’t devalue the clock and will only change the internal workings of the clock not the outside aesthetics. The clock face, pendulum and weights will not change.
House Calls:
House calls are made on Mondays & Fridays (subject to change).
We service the following areas of Middle Tennessee: Franklin, Spring hill, Columbia, Dickson, Centerville, Mount Pleasant, Fairview, Brentwood and Murfreesboro.
Any area outside of this will incur an additional cost for mileage.
What don’t we work on:
At this time we do not repair cuckoo clocks or anniversary clocks.
We don’t service glass or major case issues for the clock. If case repair is required we can recommend a quality repair person.
The Clock Doctor Workshop Policies:
Clock overhaul maintenance comes with a 1 year warranty unless the decision is made to do a total replacement of the clock movement. Total replacement will come with the manufacture’s warranty.
Most work will be finished in the order in which it comes into the shop. First come, first served.
Finished work will be forfeited after 90 days. The 90 days starts on the date of the first notification. This is to recover service costs.
Estimated due dates are just an estimate. Quality work takes time. With current supply chain issued it can take longer to get the parts then originally estimated. Custom parts also take extra time when the correct part can not be located.
Minor maintenance come with a 90 day warranty.
Warranty is voided if the clock has been tampered with by someone other than the Clock Doctor.
Items returned that are still under warranty go to the top of the service list to be worked on next.
We reserve the right to refuse and rescind any services, contracts, offers, deals, or agreements.
Any complaints should be put into writing and given to the Clock Doctor thru email at Clockdoctortn@gmail.com.
By signing the receipt or claim ticket, the customer agrees that they understand the policies listed above.
